Medical Physics is a branch of Applied Physics that uses physics principles, methods and techniques in practice and research for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of human diseases with a specific goal of improving human health and well-being. Medical Physicists are health professionals and most of them are working as practitioners, scientists and teachers in the field of radiation medicine such as Radiation Oncology, Radiology and Nuclear Medicine to ensure the quality, safety and effective use of radiation for diagnosis and treatment for patient care. The AMPICON is an annual of conference of Association of Medical Physicists of India (AMPI), which was established in the year 1976 at Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai. Currently there are around 3000 members are practicing across the country and also globally. The main objective of AMPI is to advance science of medical physics and to disseminate the knowledge among the members in order to improve the service of patient care to the population of our country.
